The Oakwood Historical Society in partnership with the Library is pleased to present this edition of the Far Hills Speaker Series- The Great Flood of 1913 by Mark Risley. This detailed presentation explores Dayton before the flood, the causes of the flood, the rescue/recovery efforts and the long-term results of the area's response.
Presented by Mark Risley, past President of the Oakwood Historical Society. Risley has been on the board of The Oakwood Historical Society since 2006.. He is past co-chair of the former Oakwood Preservation Trust and has also served on the steering committee for events commemorating the centennial of Dayton’s Great Flood of 1913. He is a retired airline flight operations coordinator, a history advocate and is involved in local independent film production.
