Far Hills Speaker Series: The Other Assassination Attempt - Fanny Seward and the Night of Horrors

FHSSJoin author Trudy Krisher for a trip back in time. On April 14, 1865, the night of President Lincoln’s assassination, Booth’s conspirator Lewis Powell attempted to assassinate secretary of state William Seward in his home just blocks from Ford’s theater. The attack, which left Seward and his son seriously wounded, was witnessed by Seward's beloved daughter, who left an account of the "night of horrors" in her diary.
