Help Shape the Future of Our Library

Wright Memorial Public Library is seeking the opinion of its patrons on future services and operations. To do this, the Library is conducting focus groups for strategic planning. The Library hopes that the citizens of Oakwood will consider attending one of the following open sessions. Each session will last approximately one hour:

Tuesday, November 11
10:00-11:00 a.m.
11:30-12:30 a.m.
5:30-6:30 p.m.

Wednesday, November 12
1:00-2:00 p.m.

 

NaNoWriMo Write In

Have you always wanted to write a novel? Join others world-wide for National Novel Writing Month and set the goal of writing 50,000 words between November 1st and November 30th. Sign up at nanowrimo.org and start writing November 1st. Wright Memorial Public Library in partnership with Saxbys Coffee Oakwood / UD will host writers every Friday night in November at the library from 6:00-8:30 for a NaNoWriMo Write in. From 6-6:30 enjoy light snacks and Saxbys Coffee and mingle with other writers. 6:30-8:30 will be dedicated writing time with a weekly Prize drawing at the end of the evening. Bring your own laptop, use a library computer or the pen and notebook of your choice. However you write, this is a great chance to work on your novel and meet other writers.

The Library will be building a Scarecrow for Scarecrow Row at the City of Oakwood's Family Fall Fest. Fall Fest is Sunday, October 12th from 2:00-5:00 p.m. in Shafor Park. Scarecrow Row runs along Shafor Boulevard and can be enjoyed from Sunday, October 12th until Friday, October 31st.
