Meet on the corner of E. Schantz and Oakwood Avenues (202 E. Schantz)
Join Wright Library and The Oakwood Historical Society for an architectural walking tour based on the Society’s “Schantz Park Historic District Self-Guided Walking Tour.” Oakwood is known for its beautifully maintained historic homes, and the homes of Schantz Park are the reason Oakwood was praised as one of the finest nominations ever received by the National Register of Historic Places when the area was submitted for historic district consideration. Registration Requested.
This guided walk is approximately 1 mile, and will look at the architectural styles and details of these distinctive homes with a dollop of history thrown in. Limited on-street parking available. The Oakwood-Schantz intersection is just 1 mile from parking at Lane Stadium. Participants are encouraged to carpool, bike, or walk to the meeting place.
