White Supremacy: A Deeper Look, 7pm Tues. January 26, 2021 REGISTER
The term "White Supremacy" has long been used to describe the Ku Klux Klan and other racist fringe movements. Today the term is more often applied to our society at large and racial hierarchies preserved within it. This workshop will delve into and challenge widespread and often unspoken assumptions we have about race.
Anti-racism 101: Anti-racism is the practice of opposing racism, and an anti-racist is someone who actively fights against racism. Join Wright Library for a series of educational workshops exploring the basic tenants of anti-racism. Learn about systemic racism, whiteness, white supremacy, and more. Presented by Dr. Michaela Null of SURJ-OH (Showing Up for Racial Justice). Dr. Null is a former professor of Sociology and Women's Studies and a makerspace specialist. Each virtual workshop stands alone. Registration Required.
