Composting is an important strategy for reducing landfill-bound waste, capturing carbon, growing healthy gardens and landscapes, and ultimately connecting to nature through an understanding of soil ecology. Tim Pritchard, Sustainability Manager for Five Rivers MetroParks, will host a discussion about how composting mimics ecological processes, and provide a practical guide to getting started or improving a compost system at home.
