Who is eligible for a library card?
Standard cards & eCards
All Ohio-residents and Ohio property owners are eligible for:
- standard card (to borrow physical or digital content) or eCard (for digital access only)
- card must be renewed every 3 years
- free, upon proof of Ohio residency/address
Temporary Ohio residents, such as college students or long-term visitors, are eligible for:
- standard card (to borrow physical or digital content) or eCard (for digital access only)
- card must be renewed annually
- free, upon proof local address and permanent address
Non-Ohio residents employed in Ohio are eligible for:
- standard card (to borrow physical or digital content) or eCard (for digital access only)
- card must be renewed annually
- free, upon proof of current Ohio employment
Non-Ohio residents who do not own Ohio property and are not employed in Ohio may apply for an eCard for an annual fee.
- eCard only (cannot borrow physical items)
- $45.00 annual fee
- card expires annually; fee is required for renewal

Teacher Cards
Educators, either professional or home-school, are eligible to apply for a Teacher Card providing extended access to educational library materials tailored to classroom needs.
