In 2021, Wright Library hosted an event series and Community Read of the book Nature's Best Hope by Doug Tallamy. The book and Tallamy's Homegrown National Park Initiative encourage a grass roots effort to improve biodiversity by starting in our own back yards. The best way to increase biodiversity is to plant native plants that support native animal species. In 2022, Wright Library added a Native Plant Garden to library grounds and was named a Partner of the Year by Greater Dayton Partners for the Environment. As you think about spring planting and yard work, consider adding Ohio natives to your own yard.
